Quick answer: The simplest way to get from a Walt Disney World resort or a Universal-area hotel to your Port Canaveral cruise is a private car booked ahead, picking you up at your hotel and dropping you at your cruise terminal. With Grayson Towncar, a Towncar for up to 4 guests is a flat $185 one way ($360 round trip) from any Walt Disney World resort or Universal-area hotel to Port Canaveral, and an SUV for up to 6 is $235 one way ($455 round trip). Fares are per vehicle, not per person, with tolls and taxes included. Your pickup time depends on your ship's check-in time and on traffic, so confirm it with our dispatch team when you book.
A lot of families pair a few park days with a cruise: fly into Orlando, spend time at the theme parks, then head to the coast on sailing day. This guide covers that middle leg, from your Orlando hotel to the ship. If you're flying in and going straight to the port, see our Port Canaveral cruise guide. For the ride home after you sail, see Port Canaveral to MCO after your cruise.
Fares from Disney World and Universal-area hotels to Port Canaveral
These are the current flat fares on our rates and booking page. Walt Disney World resorts and Universal-area hotels are priced the same to the port. Every price covers the whole vehicle.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Suitcases | Free car seats | One way | Round trip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Towncar | Up to 4 | 3 | 1 car seat or booster | $185 | $360 |
| Mini Van | Up to 5 | 5 | 1 car seat and 1 booster | $205 | $395 |
| SUV | Up to 6 | 6 | 2 car seats and 2 boosters | $235 | $455 |
| Van | 7 to 10 | 11 | 2 car seats and 2 boosters | $270 | $525 |
| Van (14 Pax) | 11 to 14 | 14 | 2 car seats and 2 boosters | $345 | $675 |
Round trip means your ride to the ship plus your ride from the port back to your Disney or Universal-area hotel after the cruise. Flying home right after you dock instead? Port Canaveral to Orlando International Airport (MCO) is $160 one way in a Towncar. Staying somewhere else, like a vacation home or a hotel outside those two areas? We cover all of Central Florida, so tell us the address and we'll give you a fixed quote.
Pick a vehicle for cruise luggage
Cruise luggage adds up: formal clothes, swimwear, a stroller, and souvenirs from the parks you didn't have on day one. Choose your vehicle by suitcases, not only by people. A family of four with four big suitcases is already past the Towncar's 3-suitcase limit, so a Mini Van (5 suitcases) or SUV (6 suitcases) is the better fit. If you're right at a limit, go one size up so every bag rides with you.
Car seats are free. Your chauffeur installs infant, convertible and booster seats, so you don't have to pack your own for the cruise. Tell us your children's ages when you book. More on car seats and family rides.
Plan your pickup time on sailing day
Your cruise documents list your check-in or arrival time at the terminal. Work backward from it:
- Start with your check-in time. Your cruise line sets it, and it's on your cruise documents.
- Allow for traffic. How long the drive from the theme park area to the coast takes depends on the day and the time you leave.
- Confirm with dispatch. When you book, give us your ship, sailing date and check-in time, and our team will help you set a pickup time that leaves breathing room.
- Check out first. Settle your hotel bill and gather everyone in the lobby before the car arrives.
How your hotel pickup works
These are the hotel pickup rules from our reservation policies, and they matter more on cruise day than any other:
- A 9:30 AM pickup means you're in the vehicle at 9:30 AM, with everyone and all the bags.
- There's a 10-minute grace period. If your chauffeur is late, the clock starts when he gets there.
- Running behind? We can hold the car up to 15 more minutes for $30 on the card on file.
- At 25 minutes the car has to go, because someone else is waiting on it. That counts as a no-show and the fare isn't refunded.
The easiest fix is to have bags packed and down in the lobby before your pickup time.
Which cruise terminal?
Port Canaveral has several cruise terminals, and the one your ship uses is on your cruise documents. You can also check the port's official cruise ship schedule. Give us your ship name and terminal when you book. Our Port Canaveral cruise transportation page has the airport-to-port fares and more port details.
Stops on the way
The free 20-minute grocery stop is for airport pickups, so it isn't part of a hotel-to-port ride. If you want to stop on the way to the ship, ask us when you book. Any stop that isn't on your reservation is an additional charge, and we'll tell you the price before your chauffeur heads there. Your chauffeur can't add a stop himself.
Putting the whole trip together
Here's how a parks-plus-cruise trip usually lines up with us. All fares are Towncar prices from the rates page; larger vehicles are listed there too.
- Arrival: MCO to your Walt Disney World resort or Universal-area hotel, $105 one way. Your chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you inside baggage claim with a name sign. See Disney World transportation or Universal Orlando transportation.
- Switching hotels: splitting your stay? A Walt Disney World resort to a Universal-area hotel is $85 one way.
- Sailing day: your hotel to Port Canaveral, $185 one way, or $360 round trip if you're coming back to the parks area.
- After the cruise: the port to MCO is $160 one way, or the port back to your Disney or Universal-area hotel for more park days. Our debarkation day guide covers timing your flight home.
