Hourly Car Service in Orlando vs a Fixed Transfer

Hourly Car Service in Orlando vs a Fixed Transfer

Quick answer: If you're going from one place to another, like Orlando International Airport (MCO) to your Disney resort, book a fixed transfer. With Grayson Towncar, that ride is $105 one way in an Executive Sedan. If you need the car to wait for you, or you're making several stops in one day, book hourly. Hourly service starts at $105 an hour, and every vehicle has a 5-hour minimum.

Both options give you a private vehicle and a professional chauffeur. What's different is how you pay and how long the car stays with you. Here's how to choose between them for convention days, dinners out, weddings and Space Coast trips.

The difference in one minute

Best for Airport runs, cruise port runs, hotel to hotel Meetings, events, nights out, day trips

When a fixed transfer is the better choice

A fixed transfer is the right fit for most airport and cruise trips. You know the price before you book, and the price is per vehicle, not per person. A few examples from our rates page (Executive Sedan):

  • MCO to any Walt Disney World resort: $105 one way, $195 round trip
  • MCO to International Drive hotels: $105 one way, $195 round trip
  • Universal-area hotels to Walt Disney World resorts: $85 one way, $170 round trip
  • MCO to the Port Canaveral cruise terminals: $160 one way, $315 round trip

If your day is just there and back, two transfers usually cost less than the 5-hour hourly minimum. For example, a Universal-area hotel to a Disney resort and back in an Executive Sedan is $170 round trip, compared with $525 for 5 hours.

Things to know about transfers, from our reservation policies:

  • After your flight lands, you get a 60-minute grace period at the airport. Hotel and home pickups get a 10-minute grace period.
  • Any stop that isn't on your reservation costs extra, so ask us ahead of time.
  • Pickups between 10 PM and 6 AM carry a flat $20 after-hours fee.

When hourly is the better choice

Hourly makes sense when you would otherwise book three or more separate rides, when the car needs to wait for you, or when you don't know exactly when you'll be finished. With an hourly chauffeur, your vehicle and chauffeur stay with you for the hours you book. That means you can step into a meeting, a dinner or an event, and the car is ready when you come out.

Common hourly bookings in Orlando:

Hourly rates by vehicle

Every hourly booking has a 5-hour minimum. Prices are per vehicle, not per person.

Vehicle Passengers Per hour 5-hour minimum
Executive Sedan Up to 4 $105 $525
Luxury SUV Up to 6 $120 $600
Passenger Van Up to 10 $130 $650
Van (14 Pax) Up to 14 $160 $800
Family Minivan Up to 5 Quote on request Quote on request

A simple way to decide

  1. Count your rides. One or two rides: book transfers. Three or more in the same day: price out hourly.
  2. Ask whether the car needs to wait. If you'd be stuck looking for a ride at the end of an event, hourly solves that.
  3. Count your hours. If your plan fits inside about 5 hours, the hourly minimum covers it. Longer days are simply booked for more hours.
  4. Match the vehicle to your group. Up to 4 in an Executive Sedan, 6 in a Luxury SUV, 10 in a Passenger Van and 14 in the Van (14 Pax).

Frequently asked questions

How much is an hourly chauffeur in Orlando?

With Grayson Towncar, an hourly chauffeur is $105 an hour in an Executive Sedan, $120 in a Luxury SUV, $130 in a Passenger Van and $160 in a Van (14 Pax). Every vehicle has a 5-hour minimum.

Is there a minimum for hourly service?

Yes, 5 hours for every vehicle. That makes the minimum $525 for an Executive Sedan, $600 for a Luxury SUV, $650 for a Passenger Van and $800 for a Van (14 Pax).

Is hourly cheaper than a one-way transfer?

Not for a simple ride from one place to another. MCO to a Walt Disney World resort is a fixed $105 one way in an Executive Sedan. Hourly is the better value when you need the car to wait or you're making several stops in one day.

Does the driver wait between stops?

On an hourly booking, yes. The vehicle and chauffeur stay with you for the hours you book. On a fixed transfer, you're dropped off at your destination, and a return trip is booked as its own ride.

Can I add a stop to a fixed transfer?

Ask us ahead of time. Any stop that isn't on your reservation costs extra, and we'll tell you the price before your chauffeur heads there. Airport pickups can include a 20-minute Publix stop if you add it when you book.

Is the price per person?

No. Both hourly and transfer prices are per vehicle, not per person.

Is gratuity included?

Gratuity is optional and never added automatically.
