Orange County Convention Center Transportation: MCO, I-Drive and Show Days

Orange County Convention Center Transportation: MCO, I-Drive and Show Days

Quick answer: The easiest way to get from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is a private car booked ahead to your I-Drive hotel. With Grayson Towncar, that ride is a fixed $105 one way ($195 round trip) in an Executive Sedan for up to 4 people, and your driver meets you at baggage claim. For show days, book separate transfers if you only need a ride there and back, or keep a car and chauffeur by the hour (from $105 an hour, 5-hour minimum) if you're moving between the convention center, meetings and dinners.

How far is the convention center from MCO?

The convention center sits on International Drive, in the middle of Orlando's hotel and convention district. I-Drive is about 15 miles from MCO, and a direct private ride to an I-Drive hotel usually takes 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic.

The OCCC is a big campus, not a single building. According to occc.net, it has a West Concourse (9800 International Drive) and a North/South building, with the North Concourse at 9400 Universal Boulevard and the South Concourse at 9899 International Drive. Find your hall in your show emails and tell us when you book. It makes drop-off and pickup much easier.

MCO to the convention area: fixed fares by vehicle

Every fare is per vehicle, not per person, and fixed when you book. Tolls and taxes are included, and there's no surge pricing. These are the current fares from MCO to International Drive hotels on our rates and booking page:

Vehicle Passengers Suitcases One way Round trip
Executive Sedan Up to 4 3 $105 $195
Family Minivan Up to 5 5 $120 $230
Luxury SUV Up to 6 6 $140 $275
Passenger Van Up to 10 11 $175 $340
Van (14 Pax), our Sprinter Up to 14 14 $225 $440

Every airport pickup includes flight tracking and a meet and greet inside baggage claim, with your driver holding a name sign. If your flight is late, your pickup moves to your real arrival time at no charge. Landing at the newer Terminal C? Staying on I-Drive: when you need a car (and when you don't)

Some hotels connect straight to the convention center. Per occc.net, pedestrian bridges link the Hyatt Regency Orlando, Rosen Plaza, Rosen Centre and Hilton Orlando to the convention center buildings. If you're staying at one of these, you can probably walk to the show. You'll still want a car for the airport runs and for dinners off the property.

If your hotel is farther away, a private car saves you a long walk in the Florida heat and a wait in the show's taxi or rideshare lines. Our International Drive car service page lists the hotels we serve along the corridor.

Show-day drop-off and pickup

On show days, the convention center sets up its traffic plan around the events it's hosting. Here's what occc.net says:

  • Rideshare drop-off and pickup points are set up around the campus and marked with banners and signs.
  • Taxi stands are usually at the front of the building, but where they are depends on the show.
  • Parking rates depend on the event and on the size of the vehicle. Electronic message signs along International Drive and the nearby roads point drivers to event parking.

Since every show is set up a little differently, a few things help:

  1. Tell us your building and hall. "West Concourse, Hall B" gets you closer than "the convention center."
  2. Set your pickup time with a buffer. The roads around the campus get crowded when a big session lets out. Setting your pickup a little after your last session ends means you won't have to rush.
  3. Keep your phone on. Agree on a meeting spot ahead of time, and watch for event signs and traffic staff on the day.
  4. Plan departure day. If you're heading straight from the show floor to MCO with your bags, book that transfer ahead and leave plenty of time for airport security.

Transfer or hourly on show days?

If you only need a ride to the convention center in the morning and back to your hotel at night, two fixed transfers are usually the simplest choice. Hourly makes more sense when your day has several stops: a client breakfast, the show floor, an off-site meeting and a team dinner, with the car waiting for you between them.

Hourly chauffeur service rates, all with a 5-hour minimum:

  • Executive Sedan (up to 4): $105 an hour, $525 minimum
  • Luxury SUV (up to 6): $120 an hour, $600 minimum
  • Passenger Van (up to 10): $130 an hour, $650 minimum
  • Van (14 Pax) (up to 14): $160 an hour, $800 minimum

Moving a team or booth staff

Exhibitors and company groups often land on different flights. We can send more than one vehicle, and each driver tracks their own group's flight, so one delay doesn't hold up everyone else. A Passenger Van seats up to 10 and the Van (14 Pax) seats up to 14, so a whole team can ride together. Every ride comes with a receipt for expense reports. See corporate transportation and event transportation for more.

Good to know before you book

From our reservation policies:

  • You have a 60-minute grace period after your flight lands, and a 10-minute grace period at hotel pickups.
  • Pickups between 10 PM and 6 AM have a flat $20 after-hours fee, which helps with late flights after an evening reception.
  • Cancel 48 or more hours before pickup for a full refund.
  • Any stop that isn't on your reservation costs extra, so tell us about it ahead of time.

Gratuity is optional and never added automatically.
